Trekking Itinerary
Arrival Day
Upon your arrival on Lombok Island, we will pick you up in an air-conditioned car from your airport, harbor, or hotel and transfer you to Senaru. Once you arrive, you will check in at your provided accommodation. If time allows, you can enjoy a guided walk to the nearby waterfalls before returning to the hotel for rest.
Day 1: Senaru – Senaru Crater Rim (2,641 m)
After an early breakfast, we head to the Rinjani Trek Centre in Senaru (601 m) for registration. The trek begins through a lush tropical forest. Short breaks are taken at Pos 1 and Pos 2 for snacks and rest. A longer lunch break is held at Pos 3 (2,000 m).
In the afternoon, we continue the hike through grassland and steeper terrain until we reach Senaru Crater Rim, where we set up camp for the night. The campsite offers breathtaking views of Mount Rinjani’s peak, Lake Segara Anak, Mount Agung in Bali, the Gili Islands, and the new volcanic cone, Gunung Baru.
Day 2: Crater Rim – Lake Segara Anak (2,000 m)
After enjoying sunrise and breakfast, we descend into the crater on a steep, rocky path through dense forest. We break for lunch on the lake’s edge and set up camp nearby. The afternoon is free for swimming in the hot springs, fishing, exploring the lakeshore, or simply relaxing.
Day 3: Lake – Sembalun Crater Rim (2,639 m)
Enjoy a leisurely morning and lunch by the lake. In the afternoon, we begin the ascent to Sembalun Crater Rim. The trail is steep and can be slippery in places. Upon arrival, we camp on the rim with panoramic views of the summit, the lake, and the northern landscape of Lombok.
Day 4: Summit – Sembalun Village (1,156 m)
Wake up at 3:00 a.m. for a light breakfast before starting the challenging three-hour climb to Rinjani’s summit (3,726 m). We reach the top just in time for sunrise and spectacular views across Lombok, Sumbawa, Bali, and the crater below.
After spending time at the summit, we descend back to the crater rim for breakfast and a short rest before continuing the long descent to Sembalun. Lunch is served at Pos 2 or 3. We arrive in Sembalun by early afternoon, where transportation to your next destination will be arranged.
