Itinerary 2D-1N Camping Pergasingan Hill:

Arrival day: Upon your arrival at Lombok Island, you will be picked up and transferred to Sembalun, a drive of approximately 2-3 hours by private car. After checking into your hotel in Sembalun, you will meet your guide for a briefing on your trip.

Enjoy a walk to Sembalun Village to observe the local weavers crafting handwoven textiles, followed by a climb up Selong Hill for a warm-up. Then, return to the hotel where you can relax and enjoy some leisure time.

Day 1.

We invite you to join our two-day journey through the rice paddies, engage with the farmers, and enjoy the view from the lofty Pergasingan Hill.

The vista from 637 meters above the villages and fields of Sembalun Lawang and Sembalun Bumbung offers a magnificent panorama of Mt. Rinjani’s ancient caldera.

The itinerary for the trek includes an explanation of the local tree species that grow at various altitudes and their use in traditional remedies by the local people, as well as how we can support the local conservation group by planting trees and orchid species.

We will visit the site where, according to legend, it was used by the king for spinning top games.

Your guide and porters will teach us how to play the spinning top. The overnight camping area is called Urat Batua, where, long ago, villagers would pray before starting to hunt wild deer. A spiritual leader will pray and bestow blessings on all members of the group before the porters and guide set up the tents. This is a prime location to witness the sunset and sunrise, as well as the summit slopes of Mt Rinjani and the distant peak of Agung on Bali.

As night falls, we observe the lights of Sembelia village and the distant port town of Labuhan Lombok. After dinner, we are serenaded by our guide or porters playing a melodic flute, while we enjoy the ethereal tropical night sky from approximately 1,773 meters above sea level.

Day 2. After breakfast, trek through the rainforest to Karya sub-village, Sajang village, for about 3 hours to see the Seven Wells (Sumur Tujuh). Venture back into the forest to spot the Black Monkey (Ebony Leaf Monkey) and listen to the cacophony of various birds and observe the diverse flora, including plants used for medicine by locals.

Enjoy lunch in the forest, then continue the hike for approximately 1.5 hours to the waterfall, where, according to legend, a king once bathed his horses. There will be time to explore and relax at the waterfall. On the return journey, walk through the community’s gardens, where the guide will share insights into their traditions and way of life, including their daily work cultivating coffee, chocolate, and vanilla.

Depending on the season, you may have the opportunity to assist them. Then, take an easy walk to explore the foothills of Mount Rinjani, where the community’s fields are still farmed in the traditional manner of their ancestors.
