Hiking Summit Rinjani and Segara Anak Lake journey spans 4 days and 3 nights, beginning at Sembalun. The trek includes a climb to the Sembalun Crater Rim, an ascent to the summit of Mount Rinjani at 3,726 meters, a visit to the lake, a swim in the hot springs, and a descent along the trail to Torean.
Trekking Itineraries:
Arrival Day:
We will pick you up from any location on Lombok Island, including the airport or Senggigi/Bangsal harbor, with our experienced driver. You will be driven to Senaru Village, where accommodations have been arranged for you and your team, approximately a 3 to 4-hour drive.
Day 1:
Wake up at 6:00 am and have breakfast.
At 7:00 am, we will drive you to the national park office for a medical check-up and registration.
Then, we proceed to the starting point, which is about 15 minutes away.
We begin the trek to Position 1 (Pemantauan 1,400m). It takes approximately 2 hours to walk from the starting point to reach Position 1. The trail varies with ups, downs, and flat sections, serving as a warm-up. We’ll take a 5 to 10-minute break to enjoy some snacks/fruits and the scenery.
We then continue to Position 2 (Tengengean 1,500m), which is a 30-minute walk from Position 1 with a flatter path. After a brief rest, we proceed to Position 3 (Pada Balong 1,800m), where the track becomes steeper. It takes about 1 hour to reach Position 3, where we will have lunch and a long rest for 1 to 2 hours.
After lunch, we continue the ascent to the crater rim/base camp (Pelawangan Sembalun 2,639m). Upon reaching the base camp, enjoy fried bananas, some hot drinks, and the views of the lake, summit, and sunset. Dinner will be served, and we will rest as early as possible.
Day 2:
Waking up very early in the morning, around 1:30 am, and after a simple breakfast, start the hike to the summit of Lombok, which stands at 3726m.
The walking time is approximately 4 hours, reaching the summit around 6 o’clock, before sunrise.
After taking sufficient photos and videos, we head back to the camp, a 2-hour descent on the same path, followed by a second breakfast.
We continue down to Segara Anak Lake, a 3 to 4-hour trek, where we have our second day’s lunch by the lake (fishing) and set up camp for the second night beside the lake. We visit the hot springs, have dinner, and then rest.
Day 3:
Relish the beauty of Segara Anak Lake and the new baby volcano while having breakfast around 7 AM. Take your time to enjoy the lake and the hot spring water. After lunch, we will get ready to resume our trek down to the river and then uphill to Pelawangan Torean, a 3-4 hour walk. We need to be cautious as the trail is quite steep and descends sharply. We’ll camp in the Torean jungle (Mondokan RE 1,420m) for about 5 hours, enjoying a campfire and dinner there.
Day 4:
After breakfast at 7 am, prepare for a walk down to Torean Village, passing the beautiful Penimbungan waterfall. Lunch will be prepared on the way at Birisan Nangka, approximately a 3-hour walk from the last camp. Expect to arrive at the Torean Village Rinjani Trekking Center between 12:00-13:00. Prepare yourself for another transfer to your next destination.
